These Are The Moments I Think That I'm Alive...

Update!!!

Wow, a lot has happened since the last time I’ve blogged. Let me see if I can list them all…

  • Found out I have gestational diabetes and started on insulin. Stressed but it’s temporary and doing it for the baby’s health.
  • Went down to Fresno during July 4th weekend to celebrate my FIL surviving tumor. Glad to see the whole family – near and far. We had a blast!
  • Finally went shopping for maternity clothes.
  • Found out the sex of our baby! It’s BOY!!!
  • Summer school started July 19th – enrolled Prince in a writing program.
  • Went on our first camping at the end of July. It was HOT!!
  • Celebrated Prince’s bday at daycare and bought him things on his wish list. Glad that he didn’t expect much this year.
  • Soccer development program ended for Prince the weekend of Aug 14th. He’s come a long way and I am so proud of him.
  • Fall recreational soccer season started week of Aug 9th – practice on Tuesdays and Thursday with games on Saturday
  • Summer school ended Aug 19th.
  • Most exciting – had a 3D ultrasound and saw the baby’s face so clear. He looks different from Prince.
  • La Cheng was hospitalized and the docs performed an operation on his stomach and found a fish bone stuck in his small intestine and also diagnosed with diabetes.
  • Nang hospitalized for a month and half and then had another open heart surgery. She is doing better…

So as you can see, so much has happened. There’s a lot more but these are the ones I consider most important.  Other than that the pregnancy has been going very well. I’ve gained a total of 20lbs and the doc said that I’m doing pretty good with the gestational diet. I saw my OB doc on Aug 11th and she said I have not gained a pound since July 11th. She also added that if I continue to gain a pound or two in the next few months I will be right on the dot for pounds gained during the whole pregnancy. I don’t expect to not gain that much with this baby as I did with Prince. Everyone knows that with your first, you are excited and eat WHATEVER you want. I know better this time around and also with gestational, I am more careful with the food consumption.

On another note, I am quite sad that I have not been able to go fishing or ride in our boat and take long weekend family fishing/camping trips like last year. Well, this is due to the pregnancy and not being able to go anywhere. I guess it’s ok. We’ll have more time next year plus we have one more person to enjoy with. BTW, I can’t wait to see him…

Last but not least, uncle Hue is getting married. We are happy for him and can’t wait to meet his bride. Wherever they decide to reside, we’ll be happy for them.

Hmmm…debating if I should enroll Prince in falll soccer development program or not. Hesitant because I don’t know if I can handle recreational soccer practices Tuesday and Thursday with games on Saturday and development soccer practices on Fridays and games on Sunday. What to do??
